In my older years, I have seemed to keep an extra 20 pounds on.
It is just what I do, what I choose, and who I am at this place in time.
Do I want to take these pounds off? Kinda. Will I do all things necessary
to achieve this? Likely not. Will I remain slightly fluffy and accept my
choice? YES.

How about you? Some want to lose pounds, and others desire to gain..

Perhaps you are content and happy right where you are, and have no interest or desire
in making any adjustments at all smile.png

I used to go to a well known slimming club before the pandemic and I successfully lost the excess weight I needed to lose. I stopped going when the meetings discontinued because of social distancing. I preferred not to diet 'online' . However, three years later, sticking to the plan, the excess weight has stayed off.

When I was younger weight was never an issue, but age, old injuries, other health and heart issues have contributed to weight gain, but in my case , it is mostly fluid, and easily lost, I'm eight years living with heart -failure, 50% live less than 5 years, 30% make it ten years, I'm 81/2 years in.

I have been the same weight for many many years - it may go up 5 lbs, down 5 lbs, but that doesn't seem to affect the size of clothing. I eat healthy, do a workout 4 times a week, walk - all which I think contribute to the steady weight. Never go to gyms - they seem too "hollywood" for me - everyone preening. Also I believe it may be genetic.

I was able to weigh on some good scales yesterday at a hospital, now 41 pounds lost since 4-6 my operation day, mostly by just cutting the amounts of things consumed (ate). From a 42 to a 32 (almost) 34 fits perfect jeans, biggest lost area in my tummy and waist. I just lost my appetite.

Three key factors combine to drive this age-related weight gain.

Your metabolism slows down
Your body composition shifts
Your hormone levels change

I never seem to put on any weight these days and am about the right weight for my height. I don't diet and eat when I feel like it but my appetite is not what it was in my younger days. Being weighed 3 times a week it's mostly fluid, a litre or so which is removed via dialysis machine. I also walk as much as possible but again not as much as I would like to, and nothing like I walked years ago.

I have always been thin, but lost weight after a health issue. I was initially very concerned by the unintentional weight loss; as it can be a sign of something unwelcome. Luckily, tests ruled out anything serious and I have gained back a bit.

Ideally, I would like to lose 5/7 lbs but not too bothered, I easily lose a few lbs by cutting out pastries, chocolate etc.

My sweet tooth is my downfall.....
