A number of great programs out there to edit photos. You obviously know how to use them.

If you have an old black and white photo, can you tell what colours it is supposed to be and colourise it?

This is my Dad again, during World War 2 (not the same guitar!)

Could you have a go at making it colour?

It could do with being a bit larger really but it will be possible to do. Below is a slightly enlarged copy of the photo but if it's done too much, it will lose definition. It's easy to resize photos down but not so easy to resize them to a larger size.

If you scan the photo in at 300 DPI or more at your end, it should be possible to size the photo upwards to a fair degree, probably a bit more successfully than it can be done by anyone downloading a photo after it's uploaded at a small size. In the meantime, this is better than the original..

Oh Wow! Thank you so much, that looks great!

The original photo is tiny. Less than 2 inches big.

I scanned it in at maximum resolution.

It came out at 3.18 MB which I was pleased with.

Your version looks fantastic.

It is now possible to clearly see the tape holding the guitar together.

My Dad took the guitar all through North Africa and the middle east as he was in the wa for the entire duration.

He told me they even melted bully beef cans down to patch it up.

The guitar did not survive the war... My Dad did smile.png

Seems you couldn't have done much more with the photo. I never know if people have a knowledge of DPI, file size and other bitmap (photo) properties and limitations.

Regarding patched up guitars, Have you ever heard of Seasick Steve? Do a search on 'seasick steve guitars'. Surprising what guitars can be made of. smile.png

Edit: My Dad was in North Africa during WW2.
