We buy and enjoy Walkers oven baked 50% less fat, sea salted. Yes they are different, that is why I like them. I don't like all the fat in the other brands.

(I put this in the over 80 group because younger people have no idea what "real" food used to taste like.)

I guess maybe I shouldn't be answering as I'm not in this age bracket, but I *am* NW In and remember Peerless and Katie's, both gone now. Closest I have found is UTZ, but I have to order online and it's pricey.

Hi Hoosier Gal... I am NW IN too, you can find Utz chips at the Strack & VanTil stores. I buy them there! They are pretty close to what Peerless was.

It's nice when anyone replies to a post. Most people do not really communicate. The post an opinion to the group, not to an individual. A "People" forum is supposed to be *personal*. But then what does a doddering 88 year-old know 'bout the modern ways of things. (Excuse me now while go back in my corner and slobber more drool all over my bib.)

Lol! Love your humor! That so reminds me of a thing with my dad years ago. He was 92 and in the hospital and the nurses wouldn’t talk to him directly, but to whoever was in the room with him. He put a sign up over his bed. “I’m old. Not senile.” Lol. He was a hoot. I’m in the under 80 category - but couldn’t resist responding to a fellow regioner. (Is that even a word????).

I post poems here and sometimes the silence is deafening. ……

I do agree about the chips thing though. I miss peerless. Especially their BBQ. Ah well ….

Re: your daddy and nurses in hospitals -

Good Lordy! I've had the same problem with those nurses. Because I'm an oldie it's OBVIOUS that I must be senile and need being pushed and pulled around on a table or bed and NEVER be talked to or treated like a sentient human being.

I would think from my present demeanor in these groups you can pretty well tell what my response was.

Well, despite you're being a YouTube poster-to, I'll keep blabbing along with you. For some reason, I've run outta co-babblers : o(

YouTube is so phony in so many ways. Scripted nonsense pretending to be as-it's-happening stuff, plus showing a total disregard for animals in many ways, plus self-narrated stuff by some who should have their vocal chords removed - sans anesthesia.

Poetry? You're still young enuf to remember there are such things as rhyme and meter? And you're wasting your remaining years of meaningful, rational thought among the likes of the doddering vacuous in this group? You're daddy may have been a hoot, but he wouldn't be hooting about this.

Hell, these days with the present crowd, you could post the great poets of yore and the silence would be deafening....

Well, things could be worse. I forgot all about potato chips for a while - but the mouth was still drooling a bit, so I guess things aren't all bad.

Now - what the hell we're we talking 'bout before you brought up all this other stuff...?

Jeesh! How did I screw up the quote machine so bad?

I'm going to have to do it my own simple way any more. I totally forgot the Kiss Principle:

Keep It Simple, Stupid!

Gawd!

(Ooops. I really shouldn't be using his name in vain anymore. He seems to still be p.o.'d with me from the last time. <sigh>)

Bluejay wrote: I live in NW Indiana. Every brand of potato chip is now colored yellow, hardened, and breaks into large hard pieces when bitten into. They used to be thin, fragile, crumbling into small pieces when crunched in your mouth.

The original potato chip no longer exists. One by one, every brand available here has turned into these gruesome mouthfuls of who-knows-what.

I've stopped trying to find a brand that hasn't changed. I'd give double the price for a bag of the real thing.

Is this problem the same where you are?

In my opinion. Ruffles are the very best potato chips on the market. Thicker than Lays. Ruffles are crunchy and salted just right.
