I like audiobooks - historical fiction is one of my favourites 1500ish.....(mostly because they're set in the UK and a lot of places I know and have even worked in the areas mentioned. Also I would love to find a spooky book that actually made me stop listening as it's so creepy. The Carnacki one was great as I had to keep listening - I loved it but alas no more can I find and I always listen at bedtime....sounds weird eh...giggles.....there is one niggle and that's an American narrator.....the twang is not on....
So, any good medieval audiobooks you know of then please let me know.......Cheers guys.....

I agree Steffigirl ... Audiobooks are fab ... I usually fall asleep listening to one ... thank goodness for the Timer!

It's brilliant when you find a new author that you like and then discover they have written a series of books smile.png

Never really got into them as my work commute is only 15 minutes and I don’t have the concentration to listen at home. I know many people who do like them though.

I expect you know that libraries have audiobooks, the library that I worked in had hundreds until they made it a discovery center.

For over a decade now...since my favorite radio station (non-commercial) I had listened to since 1980 was sold...I can't stand to listen to radio in the car..
I LOVE books on disc......always have one in the car....and, like someone else said..the library is great for these.... smile.png

Try a DCI Daley thriller/series written by Denzil Meyrick and the narrator is excellent. Set on the West Coast of Scotland, but besides them being crime novels they are so funny - I've got to know all the characters and feel like I could visit and feel right at home.....:)

Are you familiar with the Louise Penny series?
Mystery/ detective series set in Quebec, CA..

There's also the Hamish Macbeth series by M.C. Beaton...set in Scotland (I think they also made a TV show of this)

And the Agatha Raisin mysteries...also by MC Beaton..they are set in England (the Cotswolds mostly)
