Well, if this woman was a Christian, who believed in the Christian values promoted by Jesus, would she be saying any of this stuff?

I find this woman’s behaviour and speech disgusting and I find it disgusting that Trump tries to use this kind of trash to pull in the “Christian” voters.
What they are doing is totally against all the Christian values that Jesus preached about - in fact, they are more like the Pharisees that Jesus condemned.

Suggest this woman goes back and reads her Bible again, paying particular attention to the cleansing of the temple, the parables of The Rich Fool; the Rich Man and Lazarus; and the conversation between Jesus and the Rich Young Ruler.

From memory, “it’s easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a Rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven”

Freedom of religion applies to everyone - she doesnt sound like someone who is applying that to anyone else.

and freedom of religion applies to your own personal life - you dont have the freedom to bring your religious beliefs into your government.

and anyway, yes, It would be just as concerning if anyone had those sort of extremist values in any other religion and just as concerning if a president made up a position of Faith and Opportunity Initiative and appointed their own personal pastor into it.

So much for secular separation of state and religion.

What a waste of taxpayer money. U.S. citizens already waste money by maintaining both a Senate and House Chaplain.

Trump would have hired Jim Jones of Guyana Jonestown infamy if he was still around, but he seems to prefer young female blonds. After all that ranting about ISIS, Trump seems to think the guise of a theocracy may be just fine. And Pence has been in that mind set for many years.

Then it must have been a waste of money for Obama to have a Pastor - no one is complaining about that:

Evidently it was ok for Obama but not Trump. The bias is unbelievable.

For four years he was a spiritual adviser to the leader of the free world.
Now, Joshua DuBois, a 30-year-old Pentecostal minister, is moving on from politics and bearing witness to the power of Christian faith inside the White House he served.

Until he stepped down earlier this year, DuBois was the only ordained member of Obama's inner circle, a role that won him the informal title of" "pastor in chief" and "Obama's man of God. He was also one of the youngest and longest-serving members of the first Obama administration, tapped at 26 to run Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships, an office established by President George W. Bush to coordinate government outreach to faith-based groups.

No one, I believe, is objecting to the President of any persuasion having a spiritual advisor. Indeed the Graham's, among others, have undertaken such work, dubious though their backgrounds where, for many years, for more than a few Presidents. The issue here is not the ministry but the person doing the ministering, she is clearly not of a suitable character, or stability, to be this close to the seat of power.

She's likely not Rasputin, but she shares some eerie similarities, he wasn't called the Mad Monk for nothing. There are of course other objections if there appears to be favoring one religion at a policy level over all others in a country that, though describing itself as founded on the Judeo-Christian ethic, is officially secular.

Mind you, if recent writings are to be believed, she might be Trump equal as far as stability goes.

As far as I know, nobody brought up a thread about Obamas spiritual advisor - and he certainly didn't have this government role siince TRump specifically created it.

No issue with anyone having their own personal spiritual advisors - the issue is the person using their religion in a government role in a so called secular government.
And the extremist views this lady holds.

Did Obama have his spiritual advisor in such a role? ( unlikely since Trump created this role) and was that person's views so extreme?

Make sure the situation is comparing apples to apples before calling other people biased.

The role of President "Obama's Pastor" was to administer the office established by President George W. Bush to coordinate government outreach to faith-based groups.

Paula White will run the White House’s Faith and Opportunity Initiative, that from all appearances is designed to allow her version of religious folk to inflict their beliefs on others.

The odds are stacked against a crook? It does not matter if she is a Christian or not? If you think a Christian can't be a crook you're deluded.
Why would you come to her defense? Because she is associated with Trump? Does everyone get a pass because they work for Trump? Do Christian crooks get a pass because they are Christians? She stands behind her insanity. She does not live up to any Christian's standard.

So Trump has a wacko for a "state pastor" and you point to Obama? Anything Trump pulls just point to Obama and it makes Trump OK. That's a fallacious argument in debate 101.
