The topic to me references the clinical definition of mid life crisis….ie the loss of self-confidence and feeling of anxiety or disappointment that can occur in early middle age’

It happens to men and women.

I realized that no amount of hair would make me attractive; nor would possession of a fancy car. I also realized that women my own age didn’t want me, so why would one half my age?

Positive mental attitude bro! Chicks will be beating your door down.

Yeah, to get out...

What's really sad is so many of those guys KNOW the woman half his age doesn't give a fig about him in any way (they are after/ enjoy his money, usually)..
The guys don't care, because, as one said to me "ah git to look at her nekkid..."

OK, fine, if that is ALL you want out of life...good for you..you do you.

Most people would rather have someone that actually cares about them (especially as they head into old age), irregardless of their bank account balance....they want companionship, affection, love if they are lucky...

On this account, I would beg to differ. While in general , your statement may be true; but there a women who enjoy the experience and maturity of an older man, and likewise, younger men with older women, and neither has to do with being a parental figure.

I can only relate what the few men that I have had this conversation with.

It's still creepy for a guy to be with a partner they could be the father/ grandfather of..
Or the woman is old enough to have given birth to him..

If people want to do that....okey doeky..whatever twirls their beanie...
But I do reserve the right to think it weird.

*IF* someone could show me more than one instance of a, say...65 year old man and a 25 year old woman where they are equal partners in intellect and maturity and she's not looking for a father figure...and he's not looking for a sugar baby...I'll be open to changing my opinion.

You see my friend, everything in life is about perspective, we perceive things differently, even if we are viewing the same thing they may appear differently to each of us. What appears "normal " to you may not appear "normal" to me , and vise -versa. Our views are subjective to our life experiences or to what we have been taught by others, and I prefer to look outside the perimeters of the foundations of those who have serve to influence my life experiences. This is not to say I am right and you are wrong, or vice-versa, but to say we have different opinions on the subject.
