I react better to rats and mice in general, than I do to Spiders and snakes. I'd not prefer to have a rat or mouse run over my feet, or up my pants leg. I would get mighty upset even if they were harmless, lol.

Rats or Mice don't bother me in the slightest, Where I grew up there were some overgrown fields riddled with rats and just over the road was an abattoir (not the cleanest in the 60s 70s) the rats used to eat well from the abattoir and I do not exaggerate when I say there were rats over there as long as as thick as cats and they used to scuttle around the steel works and over to the abattoir for dinner,

Mice are just teeny little dudes who make a mess of houses cars sheds and everything else they decide to live in.

Rats are also very clever animals, My daughter had 4 as pets and they she used to set them puzzles of how to get to their food and they would always beat the puzzle with initiative, Once they had beat the puzzle they would remember and beat it again the next time with ease.

I believe wild rats can carry a lot of disease and mice to but I haven't seen one in the wild for an age,
I was told there is so many Rats in the UK you are never more than 9 feet from a rat even if you don't know it.
Fact or Fiction I am not sure.

They are vermin.

Mice carry Hantavirus and Rats Leptospirosis amongst other things.

I wouldn’t scream the house down or jump on a chair if I saw one, but I would call Pest Control.

Same here I wouldn't be bothered if I saw one but I have seen the damage they can do to property especially wiring so I would have to have them removed professionally.
