A sharp object stabbed underneath will kill the crab instantly.
Beware. If a muddy he will object and take your fingers (If large one) Hand off
Crabs spew out while being cooked. If you kill it first this will not happen.
For all those people saying they could never kill it.
How many would Swat a Fly, Step on a cockroach, Kill a Spider etc?
Double standards here.

No I don't do any of these things, so no double standards from me..
Can't understand why someone would be so upset or angry at those who wouldn't kill a crab..wink.png

Was told to put it in the freezer for 30 mins did that then put it in boiling salted water . It woke up and started writhing. I will never forget this experience it is upsetting me because I am guilty of murdering a crab.. now I'm thinking about how all animals we eat , die . Couldn't eat the crab BTW[/quot

I hope you couldn't hear their little high pitched screams while the were boiling.

You will kill.

Well no doubt if there was absolutely no option - starve or kill animals - most of us would probably resort to killing to survive. However, we don't live in those circumstances, at least most of us don't.

No double standards here.
However I can understand why people would kill flies as they can spread disease by spewing up and defecate on all surfaces & food ....many flies also spread illness by biting.
Fly strike is major problem if you keep sheep ...many horse owners have to protect their horses from flies .. also cattle.

For the squirmish Have you ever witnessed a pig being killed
They put a hook through it's ankle, Hang on a rack, Cut it's throat and watch it scream and kick till it bleeds to death.

Thank you for that lovely image you just put in my mind.

As for crab, I had it one time, and it was as disgusting as shrimp. I didn't think much of lobster either.
No, I couldn't kill either creature. Shrimp are already frozen when you buy them.
