I have and use both. My landline has caller ID that puts a stop to cold callers.

I have land line. It's funny, I also have a cell, and rarely use either one.

No longer keep my landline, just my cell phone. It goes with me where ever I might go. I am dependent on it, use it for everything but definitely need an upgrade to a larger phone and screen.

We had one for the MIL but she has now passed on. The broadband has now been separated from the phone line so we will be getting rid of it and will only use our mobiles. 90% of family contact is on Whatsapp or Zoom so no need for it anymore.

I prefer a land line..
I don't like cell phones..too hard to hear on..voice quality is still not good, and when people turn their heads, or put you on speaker phone while they do other things...and you have trouble hearing them...*they* get angry when you say "sorry..what did you say?" several times, because they cut in & out, nd you ony can hear part of what they said..
I also don't want to have to remember to charge something...
I like the voice quality of a land line..matter of fact..the 2 phones I have are older..one from the 80's...and one from the 1960's....
I do not like to text...but have done so via my e-mail....
I prefer to actually *talk* to someone...

And I thought it was just me who had trouble hearing people clearly when they put a phone on loud speaker setting,
My kids ring from a mobile then put it on loud speaker mode whilst they do other things like washing up or cooking and they think I can hear them it is so tinny and muffled I keep saying Hello Hello you sound all gobblygook again I can't understand a word your saying,
Hands free in a car doesn't work well when people ring me that way, I think I am talking to Norman Collier so much is missing. I normally say "sorry can't hear a word clearly ring me back later" I can't be bothered to try and decipher bits and pieces.

I only have a flip top mobile.
Never use it much, Costs me $30 for six months and I get to roll over what's left.
My internet is a netgear Wifi, A little expensive but as I travel for 6 months a year I always have access to the internet
