I'm quite happy chit-chatting with people when I'm out and about because I know it's very unlikely we'll meet again so there's no chance of being stuck with any particular person for any length of time. I've lived in places where neighbours were low-life scum that I wouldn't want to socialise with if it was my last day on Earth. I never get involved with neighbours and haven't done so for a few decades.

I've been past the stage of using the bathroom as an excuse. Just come right out with saying, sorry I have things to do and make my leave of them.

I find it so hard to have a conversation - either listening to someone who is wearing a mask, or trying to express myself while wearing one.
If someone is wearing a mask in the street, and we stop for a chat, it's almost impossible to hear them, especially with heavy lorries and other vehicles driving by.
Think i would prefer to chat on the phone at the moment..

That is a dilemma that is understandable. When a person can't hear the
other person speaking, they cannot communicate. Sometimes we can
read the lips in lieu of hearing.. but in the case of mask-wearing.. that option
goes down the drain.

In communication, respect is very important for all people....
those who one might consider the low class. They are humans
with feelings and emotions. These "low class" may have the
noblest hearts of the other classes.. if you were to so differentiate.

The respect of others was innate in me even as a very young child..
AGAIN, the golden rule applies.

" treat others the way you want to be treated.."

My next door neighbour is like a big sister to me.
She worries about me all the time. She has my key, and she
Calls me every day to check on me.
If I don’t hear from her one day, I knock on her door.
She and her husband are two wonderful caring people.

((Her husband is a great baker, so rather than throw out brown bananas,
I knock on their door and he knows, I’ll want a slice of banana cake lol)
