"...an anonymous complaint was lodged with the city over the presence of Edna."

Nosing in other people's business, stirring up trouble - it's almost a hobby or pastime for way too many people.
I hope they get to keep the cat.

Wow getting too picky about too many things is right! Those guys have some down time when they're not cleaning everything so whats the harm in a cat coming around or keeping safe in the firehouse....now a dog would be a different story cuz of the maintenance involved....

What harm/damage is a cat going to do at a fire station?

Let the guys keep Edna. She's good for them and she is well looked after by the firemen at the station.

Oh for heavens sake, probably a gripe by one person and it has to be looked into, waste of time and money no doubt having a meeting about it, just to get out of doing any genuine work. It's funny when you want a Council (anywhere in the world) to genuinely look into something they come back with a load of old t**h....

If I was a resident of that place, I'd be writing to the Bosses to protest her removal and getting up a "Save Edna" petition.

Providing the FireFighters have had her neutered and keep up with her regular innocculations and de-fleaing, what harm can she do - in fact she probably helps to keep down the rodent population as well as giving de-stressing cuddles to the troops - a Win Win situation all round.

I think the person who made the original complaint needs to get a life. If Edna came in off the street, there must be more cats out there, so are they going to do a sweep of the neighbourhood and catch all the others out there? I doubt it, so just leave Edna alone.
