I moved to a small UK market town about 5 years ago (population 12,000) and I think this will be the place I call home from now on.

These are the things that my home town are known for:-

Two horse fairs are held every year, these date back to the 1400's when a charter was granted to hold them.

John Entwhistle, former member of The Who is buried in the church graveyard.

The last battle of the UK civil war was fought here in 1646

People know to dress warmly when they come here as the town is on top of an exposed hill approx 800 feet above sea level and has a reputation for being cold and windy (I can confirm this is true!! ;) )

Where I live is marketed as having cheap housing and easy access to London, both by rail and road. .

My son and I drove through your town back in August oddsocks. I would have loved to have made a stop at one of your famous potteries....but my son was on a mission to get us to our final destination!
