It seems that human waste has become a big concern on Everest. Although climbers are supposed to bag it and bring it down, much of it is left in the snow and is accumulating rapidly as more and more people try the ascent. For this, and other reasons, I won’t be making the climb any time soon.

It is a shame that people appear to be lazy and do not bag their rubbish to take back with them. Unfortunately it seems to be happening everywhere these days.

So disgusting. Need a human poo bin on the mountainside

I was on holiday in Spain a few years back, and I remember seeing human waste on the sand at one of the tourist beaches - where children and adults go alike - so revolting and there is no excuse for it.

Poop? Sheesh, there's dead bodies up there at the last camp and along the trail.. Maybe they have removed them recently but they were there for years.
Basically, there's too many people going up there.
When you get a wilderness permit here in the states they ask you to pack everything out. I'm not sure if they mention poop. They do tell you not to poop or pee within a distance of a stream or lake.
When you are up on a peak there aren't many places to go but I do carry a doggie poop bag when I walk with my dog.
I guess it might be tough to pack it out if you are in the wilderness for a week. I never packed out my poop. I made a latrine of sorts, they actually have instructions for that at the ranger station.. Animals will did it up though. Like dogs, many critters are poop eaters. Like worms and fly larvae.
We have a giardia problem in the Sierras now for about 30 years. Before that you could use water from a lake or a stream in the high country without filtering it, now you need a filter. I have friends that contracted it back awhile. Giardia was usually confined to places where they grazed cattle.

If there is a poop problem, I will obviously have to cancel my trek to the top of Everest.
