I am thoroughly weary of tales of woe, particularly Brexit and global warming. Can anyone offer some good tidings instead?

I know what you mean, me also. Good news here, it has been raining at last so the farmers will be happier now. Also the gardeners. We have had the best summer for a very long time but all good things must end. The forecast is for some more nice weather later this month though so something to look forward to. (;;)

Yes I'm enjoying the rain and the cooler weather. May even go out later for a short walk around my estate. Might even plan a short break away somewhere here in the UK later this weekend.

After struggling with my walking for a long time, I have finally bought a mobility scooter.
I have become almost housebound because of my joint problems & it has caused my depression to get worse, the feeling that my life is just passing me by. The scooter will give me a new lease of life. :) :) :)

Right, something good. I’m relatively healthy [she says touching wood] I’ve got enough money to treat myself to a latte in Sainsbury’s now and again. I’ve got my sisters and my nieces and my good friends. I have a car. I’m told I have lovely hair. I have all these things even though life is not good for me at this present time. There is always someone worse off. I will try to think of more.

Thanks Jon. Yes, it can be a 2 edged sword, hurts walking so don't get out much, don't get out much & you put on weight, which makes the walking harder etc, etc, etc.
I put on weight too, but think [hope!!] I can control it better if my mind is in a better place.
I would encourage your bil to maybe hire one for a week or a day. I have used them at Tesco to do some shopping, but I always had someone with me.

I get over-heated when the weather is warm, so don't go out walking in the summer. Now that things are cooling, I'm planning some nice, long hikes on the moors.
