Does snobbery still exist? If so what form does it take?

I think there is more inverted snobbery these days.

Well, it's still alive and well down in the south, I know because I live here.

No noticeable snobbery here in my part of the midlands and I live in a so called 'posh' area. I came across it in my last village where neighbours objected to a proposed development because there was going to be some affordable housing amongst it. They built it anyway following Government guidelines to provide cheaper houses.

I hope so. With standards so low these days, I hope there are still people who stick to the old-fashioned ways and keep themselves separate from the riff-raff.

I think it is alive and well - try walking around Waitrose!! There are, however, different types of snobbery now. The "classic" kind based on how much money you have or what job you do , then there is the snobbery related to how much "virtue signalling" you can display, you know the sort of thing making a huge fuss about refugees or the homeless but not actually doing anything, whereas others just get involved without expecting a pat on the back.

You are right there!! I remember plans to open either a Lidl or Aldi in Harrogate were scuppered by residents who said a Waitrose was "more appropriate" for the town.

Sadly, snobbery and the class system is endemic in much of British life. "I know my place" as Ronnie Corbett said.

A perfect martini should be made by filling a glass with gin, then waving it in the general direction of Italy.
