Are we battering Pumicestone ??????? 1 Month ago

That,to put it succinctly is my Question ????? -- Are we battering Pumicestone ???????
My Answer :- There a few on here that enjoy the cut and thrust of arguementative debate, I am definately one of those.
At times we are accused of stepping over the mark, and, at times we do,mainly though to emphasise a point more than to abuse those being answered, unfortunately those that take things that are "said" in a forum, tend to take them to heart.
I would imagine Pumicestone is one that reads the forums looking for a good post to use his famous "QUOTATIONS" on, and then sharpens his keyboard and dives in, once his post is sent and the replies come bouncing back at him, he will read them, looking for some little nuance that he can turn to his favour, enjoying every moment of it, when he closes down his computer he gives a wry smile, takes no notice of those that "dig' at him as he has just enjoyed himself.
I am of course guessing all this because I do not know the man,he uses the quote button --- I tend to type as I speak, direct and to the point, both of which some find offensive, but I do think we are like minded in many ways, and if we are then I suggest he doesn't feel that he's being "battered" at all, quite the contrary, his ego is being massaged, and we with the big ego's tend to like a good massage.

I don't think so.........Pummy goes out of his way (so do you) to entice a response from even the most moderate minded member. However I feel if he does get battered it is probably from his style of posting not the comments within.............the copy/paste style of posting has a distinct, confrontational, teacher-pupil style of 'I'm telling you'! attitude which would ride up anyones back even without reading the content. Your posts are sometimes an out and out worm on a hook, which folk can see and chuckle at and respond at will..................so are we battering Pummy, not yet!

HarryJ, i do enjoy your posts, and those that Pumice makes--thought goes into them, very obviously-----i would add however, that jumpimg on a nuance or using one, is essential to debate, i prefer polite debate, but i think it would be a far poorer site if everyone agreed to agree---regards, rick

Why is it that using the quote facility is so adverse to some?
It is a facility that is provided so that it can be seen which post we are directly replying to, especialy if we are replying to something that has gone back a couple of pages.
And anyone that uses the quote (and it is NOT cut and paste) should not be pilloried for it.
