Life - by canuckguy3333
i woke up this morning everything was newso many faces they wrapped me in blue
felt these arms that were so full of love
i looked up and saw the face of my mother above
i woke up this morning and i was a teen
those childhood memories gone like a dream
friday night after begging my dad threw the keys
be careful,no drinking, home at midnight please
i woke up this morning to be a young man
was time to sit and make out a plan
time to think of a job and what was in store
time to think of the future cant dream anymore
i woke up this morning and i was a man
the world for the taking, i know i can
something was missing to complete my life
i know i got lucky in finding my wife
i woke up this morning and i was a dad
never in my years had i been this glad
of all the things in my life i had done
had never been prouder of my own little son
i woke up this morning with gray in my hair
must have happened overnight, never used to be there
things are quiet here now cept sundays at three
two liitle ones arrive to sit on my knee
i woke up this morning feeling tired and old
although it was summer could still feel the cold
i look back and wonder how the years just flew by
for an instant i thought i might even cry
but i knew i wouldnt by the window i stood
life had been wonderful, had been perfectly good.......
i woke up this morning everything was new
so many faces they wrapped me in blue
felt these arms that were so full of love
