How Can It Be


Where there was sadness and pain
And so much darkness within
There now is joy and happiness
With light slowly coming through
How can it be?

Where tears were my only constant
Walking in circles with no purpose
There now is smile and laughter
I am finally finding myself again
How can it be?

Where I dreaded the new day
And all I wanted to do was hide
I now awake to new beginnings
Looking forward to my tomorrows
How can it be?

Where I felt the world was mine
And all was lost in an instant
I can now let myself dream
Knowing I can have all again
How can it be?

Where I felt unconditional love
One moment.....gone the next
I can now feel it in your voice
In your laughter, your patience
How can it be?

Where I felt so safe and cherished
And my peace was taken away
The freedom to love again is....
Only but a short moment away
How can it be?
